Drivers using the clockwise M25 in Surrey overnight this week are being advised that they are likely to see to lane closures between junction 8 (Reigate) and junction 9 (Leatherhead), in Surrey while work to strengthen the carriageway is carried out.

Three lanes (of four) will be closed to enable the work to be completed safely.

The work will be carried out overnight, between 10pm and 5.30am, until Thursday and between 11pm and 6am on Friday night.

Work on Saturday and Sunday will be carried out between 10pm and 5.30am.

Crews will be pumping a strengthening material beneath the carriageway surface for first three hours of each night shift.

After this, road users may not see any work taking place, but the three lanes will remain closed until 5.30am (6am on Saturday morning) to enable the material to harden correctly.

Highways England and its contractors will be monitoring the work and will reopen the lanes as soon as it safe to do so.
